Block heater cord

I was told by the local Nissan dealer here in bend, OR. that Nissan is not producing or selling the block heater cord. Any suggestion on what to do or to get something. It was 22 degrees below zero the other day

It will be in the 30's for the next few week so you're good. Call the parts dept at different dealer. Block heaters seem to be in short supply right now because they are having alot of failures.

Make a complaint either through nissan consumer affairs or through bbb. A person from nissan will call you in a couple days after you make a complaint and will overnight it to your dealership. Thats what they did for me, for both the block heater and cord.

Go to a diesel repair shop and they should be able to take care of you. I actually got a 2 prong plug that has a90 in it to make it easier to plugged in. My cord is what they use on power strokes since he didn't have a 90 degree cord from Cummings in stock.

Also from Bend, was told that it wasn't a standard option and that my truck didn't have it. They told me only Alaska trucks came with the block heater and would cost 500 to install one. After poppping the hood and checking the location, I DO HAVE one installed with a rubber plug on the end of it. Ordered a 90 degree plug for it ( recommended from other reviews on here) for under 20 bucks. WTF!?!?!?!?

Not that different from any other manufacturer, some have it installed some don't, and a 5 dollar extension cord cost 50 plus

The cord that Nissan sells will work but it is a PIA to install and the 90 degree angle cord is so much easier. Buy the 90 degree angle cord that this post is linked to and you will be happy u did instead of buying Nissans.
