When driving they are valuable safety/warning features (especially considering how many people do not turn their lights on in bad weather) and so I really hope that they cannot be disabled (excepting law enforcement).
If you are parked setting the parking brake and turning lights off will kill the DRLs.

I disconnected the wire....Daytime running lights are, in my opinion, useless now that more and more of them are on the road. It used to be an attention getter, but now it's ignored just like the third brake light....

I respectfully disagree. I especially like them at dusk, when some people forget to turn on their headlights.

Sure but it would be nice to turn them off for some situations

Bikerndiver
Can you give me any information how to disconnect the wire for the daytime running lights and where is the location of this wire is since the fuse panel under the hood that says daytime running lights does not have a fuse in it
Please let me know how you gained access to this wire and the location much thanks For any help you can give
If there's a wire that goes to it there can easily made a switch for it to turn them on and off
Did you have to cut wires to each headlight ?

I went to the light, found the wire, followed it back and used a very high tech approach to shut the light off....I snipped it with wire cutters.

I have traced mine but will be installing an over ride switch. I like them on the road, but they suck when trying to sneak on to a peanut field before daylight.
