S&B Intake Install

Installed my S&B CAI love the looks, was a pretty straight forward install. No mention of the little breather tube also attached to the side of the OEM box, but that was no biggie.
Definitely not a short guy friendly install lol!!
Raining here so not a great day to put it through some test runs. Will post an update ASAP....

2 questions for you. how close is the airbox to the fender of your truck? when I installed mine, there was a really slight gap between the two. unfortunately, it doesn't fit into the fender like the OEM does. also, what are your thoughts on leaving the secondary inlet open vs closed? Ive been running with mine open so far

It fits pretty close as far as I can tell no obvious gap, I had a heck of a time getting the lower bolts lined up. The actual seal on the OEM inlet was sketchy at best so I don't think that's going to matter. As far as the secondary inlet I'm kinda going back and forth on that myself... open right now, thought about contacting S&B to see if there were reasons not to leave it open.

they say to minimize engine heat. I've had it open during towing and several regens with no noticeable loss in power or increase in temps. that part of the engine doesn't get too hot anyways

I am going to install mine tonight. I think I'm going to leave mine in for now, we are ginning a lot of cotton around here right now.

Looks good! Does it add any performance increase or change the sound?

to everyone who is installing the intake, I would recommend having a beer close by, because the bolts and rubber grommets are an absolute motherfukcer to line up lol

I second that!!!
I eventually cheated and put a little rubber cement on the grommets to keep them in place.

I will say I was a little disappointed I couldn't hear the turbos spin up... but maybe this M2 set up doesn't whistle?
