Red face Oil analysis results

Here is my report on my engine. Wear metals still high (3rd oil change) and another coming up soon. If I am reading this right; engine is still breaking in and will decrease over time. The additive package for the oil is still good. The synthetic oil is giving a slow break-in to the engine and hopefully that is good thing. There is no antifreeze in the oil and there 1 percent of fuel in the oil; possible injector leaking or long idle periods it has had a couple of long idle times 2-3 hours.
I will be testing the transmission oil shortly; to see how that is doing.

The fuel is probably from going through regens, test the next oil change. But doesn't look bad at all.

First one was at 4100 and the second one was 10,615 right after my Alaska trip. The truck had 611 miles on it with brand new oil change when I accepted the truck. I will be changing the oil the this week again with another sample taken.

I just performed my baseline analysis and all looks good. It appears guys are starting to use Blackstone more frequently so we all should have better data moving forward. The results I see here are well within expectations for my motor with 5000 miles.

In the interest of putting multiple oil analysis in the same place, here's mine. I did my first oil change at 2300 miles and switched to AMSOIL. I will do the second at 10k and have that analyzed as well.

Here is my newest one for the engine. I will have a transmission analysis also; when the sun and a day off come together. I have a new transmission filter and the gasket.

It has been Shell Rotella T-6 synthetic oil 5-40; Wally World has the 2.5 gallon container in some stores a little cheaper than buying 2 gallons and 2 quarts. When I got the truck delivered to me finally they had just changed the engine oil and the transmission fluid too(!) in it and it has 611 miles on it. I have use this oil in it since the first oil change and use the Cummins filters only. So I think the oil helped engine with a gentle break-in of the engine. The 6000 mile Alaska trip helped also with break-in of the drive train in general mostly around 60MPH.

You may want to have a new sample of the rotella done, it is some of the worst oil on the market
