We bill it at 2.5 hours". I just smiled and said have a nice day :-)

Tell your service manager to call me if he needs some suggestions on how to streamline that "pretty involved job".

Thanks, MBALKA,

Did my first filter changes today at the Kirtland AFB auto hobby shop. Went exactly as you described. In the bay all of 30 minutes.

Really appreciate your help!

Mike

I had my fuel filters replaced by my local dealer last week along with an oil change and tire rotation, $216 total out the door for all 3 services. Figured for that amount it wasn't worth me doing it myself lol

Did you check for leaks? Maybe wasn't primed properly. Pinched oring or not seated correctly

Fuel Filters, part 1

I changed mine last week. Whoever originally installed my under cabin filter cross threaded the piss out of it! Was very difficult to loosen, even while using my breaker bar.
Thankfully I was able to slightly tweak the plastic threads to allow it to thread back in smoothly.

One other thing, the line never stopped dripping fuel throughout the entire procedure...thankfully I was able to catch it all in the can, but I also wore some lol. Maybe next time I'll loosen the fuel cap to relieve more pressure?

Not at all, my local Nissan dealer is very reasonable with their prices. Not even worth it for me to do it my self at that price

The second time I changed my fuel filter under the cabin it did the same thing. This time, i ran the tank down to less than 100 miles till empty, parked the truck with a nose up attitude, took of the fuel cap and had no issues changing the filter. Lost about 2 cups at most.

A gun is like a parachute...if you need one, and don't have one...You'll never need one again.
