Canadian Block Heater

Hey, just wondering if the block heaters in the Canadian trucks are different then the US trucks? My trucks heater failed and from what the service manager at the local dealer is telling me is I’m not getting the updated version that installs in the coolant hose. I explained to him why they were failing in the first place and what Nissans “fix” was. I then told him that other owners were receiving an updated version and I’m not getting that because the truck is Canadian. He went on to say that the wire basically wraps around the engine and down to under the power steering pump. They have had the truck since Tuesday for that and a couple other issues. Is he blowing smoke up my ass or are the heaters different?

Thanks guys

Thanks, yeah I kinda figured that much, just wanted to confirm. I wonder how long this one will last.

Park it nose down and you can make it last. Nose up and it burns out first use.

I am in Ontario and every block heater that we have replaced has gotten the updated coolant tube. Not really sure what the cord has to do with anything because it gets a new cord as part of the bulletin. Now if you are out of warranty than you would have to pay for all of the parts and installation. But if you are still under warranty then it should be all covered.
