Did you see this coming?
The 2016 Nissan Titan XD was nominated earlier this month for the AutoGuide.com 2016 Truck of the Year competition. This light duty pickup was able to impress the editors enough to be named AutoGuide’s Truck Of The Year over its competitors, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma and GMC Canyon Diesel.
What made it rise above its competitors?
After being put through its paces on muddy roads while towing a GMC Canyon, the Titan XD was found to be above the other two models in terms of comfort, features and drive feel. It’s described to have a comfortable, quiet and spacious interior along with thoughtful features like LED bed lights mounted in the bed walls and the truck’s roof, good storage solutions with the fold down cab floor, great tie down points and its trailer like check system.
Most important is the Titan XD’s drive feel with its smooth ride experience and the large amount of torque at low RPMs. The Titan managed to tow a full load of around 6,000 pounds with confidence, feeling more secure and planted than other half tons with a similar load.
