Take it to another shop for a second opinion.
Your EGR is leaking it has to be replace The dealer tech don't know how to check that. My coolant tank would get low every long (trips) or in traffic (hot days) The shop by me work on diesel trucks we talk about my Nissan and check it out got EGR replace now is running better than before with some pep. I hope that help youI have a 2018 Titan XD Diesel that has 170000 highway miles. Since I bought it new the truck has stalled several times with no power and every time I carried it back in the dealer would tell me low antifreeze. Recently the check engine light came on and I carried it back in and indicated the rotary control valve actuator needed to be replaced. Dealer reset computer and told me to drive it until the actuator arrived. Two weeks after this while approaching a red light while transmission was downshifting somethin under the hood started making a noise like a busted muffler. I immediately carried back to the dealer to assess the problem and a week later they tell me I need a new engine. I drove up and talked to the tech, nothing was removed they just looked at id and decided it needed a new engine because every truck with the Cummins diesel has failed. I was also told that I was lucky to have driven it 170000 miles. The funny thing is it still drives, oil pressure is fine, temp is fine and turbo still spools up. Other than knowing it needs the actuator and the new busted muffler sound coming from under the hood it still goes down the road as usual. I have called Cummins they tell me its a Nissan Problem to go back to the dealer. Any advice or direction in what to look for would be appreciated.
