There are sooo many scams out there. If I were in your shoes I would peruse utube for vids relating to selling/buying scams...it's literally blown up lately with so many innovative scams. From what I've gathered so far (and I'm just casually watching vids that pop up in my "suggested"...not studying as if I were selling) is that CHECKS, no matter the source, are not to be trusted. No cashiers, bank checks, nothing. 99% of the scams involve checks from "banks" and they do strange things like OVERPAY you (watch the vids) and if you fall for this stuff, you will hate life!

I buy/sell livestock and I only accept checks from people I've done business with for years (and I know them personally, know where they live, know their kids names, etc). EVERY one else coughs up cash, and this isn't that difficult. Just meet your client IN THEIR BANK and better yet a bank that has vehicle title services. In my area I have accounts in the same banks in towns that 90% of my customers live. Opening an account is fast and easy.

REMEMBER: The scammers are very good at what they do and can talk your pants off if you don't stick to your guns. IF you think you'll outsmart them, you already got conned!

Btw, I have the same truck I have the CrewCab, love it, 19k miles and use it pull my TT. I can't think of another truck I'd trust as much and I don't do diesels...not since DEF.

I've never seen your variant, cabwise, offered anywhere at anytime. Crazy! I like crew cab too much to downsize. I have a large family.

Years ago I sold my 70 Cutlass to a buyer in California. What we did was have our banks involved and wired the money. On the day the car hauler showed up to pick up the car, I snapped a picture of the car on the trailer to the buyer, he then gave his bank the go ahead to wire the money to my credit union. Once the money showed up my credit union let me know the money was there and that was that. So long story short if I were you I'd suggest the buyer wire the money to your bank and you get confirmation that the money is there before you let the truck go.
