I bought a MX4 from Realtruck.com and have not been happy with it... the rubber weather stripping attached to the underside of the topper at the bulkhead came off and the ends of the side rubber strips lifted off the vinyl .. when it was glued together the vinyl was not cleaned and primed for the glue to properly adhere. I had to use gorilla tape to get the strips to stay attached and seal out The water. real truck just sent 2 side strips and the wrong bulkhead strip and bak is just jerking me around giving excuses saying I installed it wrong. the unfinished ends of the rails scratched my tailgate the first time i shut it so i filed down the ends of the rails and taped them to keep the weather strip out of the way of the tailgate when it shuts and to hide the unfinished end of the rails
Realtruck.com and Bak refused my 30 day return request and not honoring a warranty.
i figured for 1000 dollars i would have received a quality product with customer support and a warranty
the response I received from Bak industries was first to call Realtruck.com but they already closed my request for seals and primer. Then Bak replied with “ per the attached instructions you installed it wrong “ i replied that the rubber strips were never installed correctly causing detachment, and the rivets in the rails or small sheet metal screws were not even evenly installed evenly. It was if their factory assembly was lazy or just didnt give a crap about craftsmanship during manufacturing.
from a distance it is a nice looking topper, but in a year this is just going to fall apart in the florida heat and rain.
