I've towed heavier, it does fine. But if it's going to be every weekend I'd go for a lighter 5th wheel or a heavier duty truck.

I would say you will probably bust your GAWRR with that setup. Nearly all of a 5th wheel's hitch weight lands squarely on the rear axle. But, you must weigh your setup to be sure.

Another factor to consider, is the weight of the hitch and adapter plate as well.
I’ve towed a big/heavy 5’er with my gas XD, and it did just fine. But it in no way shape or form towed any better than my conventional travel trailer, when properly equipped.

The SuperGlide that I used was over 300#, and the adapter plate was 120#. Those numbers reduce the payload/king pin capacity that you’re allowed to tow now.

It’ll tow it, but you’re much better off just getting a conventional, and equip it with a high-end WD hitch, and replace the shitty tires that come on it, with high-end tires.

With those specs, you should be fine. GVW of 11,560 is probably not your every day towing. More likely 7,800lbs + ~1500lbs of added weight (~9,300lbs, @12% hitch (1400/11560) is 1116lbs on the GAW). The issue you should look into is not using a typical 5vr hitch but instead use a gooseneck coupled Anderson. You will save significant weight in the bed and that is what you need.

I'm kind in the same boat. A little lighter but heavier on the hitch:

2017 XD Gas.

Dry Weight 7,582 lbs.
Payload Capacity 2,418 lbs.
GVWR 10,000 lbs.
Hitch Weight 1,505 lbs.

I'll be investigating using the Anderson hitch as well.
