HERE IS MY UPDATE ON THIS

Thank you all for your messages. After reviewing the vehicle history report from Premium VIN, I have decided not to proceed with the purchase of the vehicle. The report indicates that the vehicle has been involved in three accidents, all of which resulted in the airbag being deployed. Additionally, the report shows that there have been three liens associated with the vehicle and it has had two previous owners. Based on these findings, I have concerns about the vehicle's safety and reliability and have decided to seek another option. Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to review the report.

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to buy a used 2017 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve/S/SL/SV with 5.6L V8 DOHC 32V engine and a rebuilt title. The price is $28,800. I'm wondering if I should go for it or not.

I've been doing some research and it looks like the 2017 Nissan Titan is a good vehicle overall and has some great features like a large cabin, plenty of cargo space, and a powerful engine. However, I'm concerned about the rebuilt title. How reliable is a rebuilt vehicle? Will it cause me any problems in the future?

I'm also wondering if the price is reasonable. Is this a good deal?

I'd really appreciate your help and advice. Do you think I should buy this car or not? If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to share them.

Thanks in advance!

I’d first want to know why it was salvaged. From there if you look it over closely, drive it and think everything seems good I think usually salvaged vehicles are valued 25-35% below the value were it not a salvaged vehicle. You can get great deals this way but it all depends on what happened to it and how well was it repaired.

NavyCuda is right. Try to get some details about the “why”. See if you can run a CarFax report. I assume by rebuilt, you mean a salvage title. That doesn’t mean a rebuilt engine. Could have been more damage to the body than the insurance wanted to pay or it could have been flooded. Could have frame damage but powertrain is fine. Too many questions as is though.

Look into your state laws about registration and call your insurance about coverage for a vehicle with a rebuilt title. Are you paying cash for this? I would be doubtful any bank would lend against this truck. If you are paying cash, use it as a down payment on something better, and have a small note to help with your credit.

just saw your on Texas, ask the current owner if they have passed the mandatory safety inspection and filled out form VTR-61. They may have already done this but it’s still good to confirm.
