I've had my truck ask me once if I wanted to save my best MPG, which at the time was 4.9. I have wanted to update when I'm running 18 or so, but I can't figure out how to make it save the new best.

This is what I gathered from owning mine a few years:

It calculates MPG for that particular drive. Once you turn off the truck, IF it’s higher than the previous saved MPG, the gauge cluster will ask you if you want to save. If you open the door before you do that, it will disappear.

Drive truck, turn off truck, before opening any doors, notice if the prompt to save best MPG is available, select save with buttons on steering wheel.

Thanks! I guess I'm not patient by nature and don't look at the gauge cluster before opening the door. I saved 19.7 last night

I often open the door too quickly also. I finally did it right and saved 17.1 MPG yesterday after a trip across the state and back.
