A Titan XD will probably spend most of its life on even/almost even surfaces with the odd dirt road here and there but, maybe a few will get some hangtime when it isn’t hauling or towing something.
The 2016 Nissan Titan XD’s factory suspension may not be able to handle a jump like the one above, especially with a 5.0L V8 turbo diesel engine that weighs around 900 pounds so off-roading enthusiasts will have to look at the aftermarket for mods and that’s where Icon’s new stage 3 suspension system comes in.
ICON Vehicle Dynamics has had plenty of time to develop their system thanks to Nissan’s stance on truck modifications. Last summer, before the Titan XD went on sale, Nissan invited well known pickup truck aftermarket companies to get up close with the XD for a tuner measuring session. This way, XD owners won’t have to wait too long for model specific parts.
This suspension system’s coilover shocks will lift the truck 2-3 inches and remote reservoirs will help lower fluid temperature while you’re blasting over rough terrain so the XD won’t experience shock fade due to overheating. Also included is Icon’s compression damping control valve, upgraded control arms, rear lift blocks, and u-bolts.
Slap on a set of off-road tires and the XD’s front will be ready for a bit of air time.
