I am/will get the XD when a few of the issues are worked out such as availability of parts. However looking into the costs of ownership I downloaded the manual from Nissan and noted this as required maintenance items. Items are in miles.

Oil and filter replaced every 10K @ 2 1/2 Galls, parts costs $90 Labor?
Coolant 45K @ $159
Fuel Filters (not in system yet but using Ram) 2 @ $50-$100 apiece guess $200
Transmission @ 20K miles @ $239

Every 10 K $250-$350 (oil & fuel Filters)
Every 20 K $539 (transmission, oil, fuel filters)
Every 40K $700 (fuel filters, oil, transmission, and coolant )

So at 100K miles its approximate::::::

Oil and Filter Approximate $1500 (at $150 per 10K change)
Transmission flush $1195 ($239 per every 20K change)
Fuel Filters $$1000 ($100 per 10K change X2)
Coolant Flush $318 ($159 every 45K)

Total 100,000 Mile costs of ownership to maintain $4013 :surprise:

I didn't add brake system flushing which is required at 20K miles. This is going to be a costly beast to maintain. Just a FYI for Folks

Does this change peoples minds on buying? I am serious reconsidering with these costs which have

I don't see how that's any different than any other diesel? My fords held like 14 quarts, had massive and dual fuel filters, massive oil filter. Plus it had to have its oil change every 3-5k miles for the blow by of diesel into the oil system.
That's 3 times as many as nissans 10k recommended change. Though I'll change mine more often if working her or dirty
(The 3 years of free service I had em throw in wont hurt either lol)
This Cummings gets 2wice the milage of my ford diesel
hopefully this Cummings won't cost me 22k in repairs as my ford did
Nope not changed my mind, one bit lol.
By the time my dealers 3 years are up, aftermarket filters and such will be plentiful, I'll do my own maintenance work then as I've always done. Be just like any other diesel

My dealer quoted me $100 oil change plus tax done.
I personally can't see myself doing a tranny fluid change every 20000 miles, it's not needed. Considering ram is over 60000 miles same tranny.
The only thing I have to search for is a better price on fuel filters.

So a quick comparison vs the 6.4l hemi 2500(since those are what I'm considering vs the Titan xd).
Oil change every 8k....$90
Trans at 60k.....$239
Plugs at 100k.....$684(will vary based on labor rates)
Roll this to 100k......$2093 WAY CHEAPER!!
BUT....factor in fuel difference and def.....
$1.50 for 89 octane getting 12 mpg with 6.4=$12500
$1.65 for diesel getting 16 mpg on Titan=$10312
Def at 2% usage rate and $4/gallon=$500

So using op's calculation, that puts the Titan at $14,825 vs the ram 6.4L hemi at $14593.
That's a difference I can live with to have a cummins Titan xd!
And if your wondering why I didn't compare to the 6.7 cummins.....well I looked at a truck that has comparable towing capabilities(12k with 3.73's) and is bigger than a 1/2 ton(since I think we can agree that the Titan xd handles a load more like a 3/4 than a 1/2).

$100 for oil change sounds right, 10 quarts of API CJ-4 oil and an oil filter. Should be less when I do it myself. Prices for fuel filters in not reasonable ($200???). These should be around $25 each. Fleetguard list part number as LF17517 for oil filter, FS53029NN as stage 1 fuel filter, and FS63017NN as stage 2 fuel filter. I guess I should not be surprised, but pricing is not out for these 3 filters. Philip.

My 6.2L F150 is looking better every day.

$45 oil changes X20 (the book says 15 but I go every 5k)
nothing else but
plugs @ 100k miles ($400 per my dealer)

$1300

Towing 11k lbs
Payload 1500 lbs

I average 13.5 mpg so I do pay at the pump. 100k/13.5 @ $1.50= *$11,111 in gas

Total

$12,400

If you have never changed your tranny or diff fluid and you do tow regularly. You may be looking at a much bigger expense down the road. I've had to replace trannies before.

They say lifetime but your right....I won't do that so I should have added the cost. Fuel cost make them all pretty close in cost.

I was using the local dealership costs vs what the net said was available. So what do you mean the fuel costs is even?

has anyone had a quote from a dealership on maintenance packages? I asked about it and they said they'd get back to me at my local dealership.

Service between this titan and a regular gas pot will be pretty close. There will be an extra cost for the added oil they take, but that's about it.
Ive got no problem paying an extra couple bucks to service. It's a Cummins and it will outlast those ecojokes and hemis hands down.

My dealer set the maintenance cost of and oil change: oil, oil filter, 2 fuel filters and inspection @389.95$ CAD

Being set at every 16000 km or 12 months, that's not that bad...
