This is my experience with my 2016 Titan XD. The first week of owning the truck I experience a leaking radiator that my dealer covers the cost of, $2900. I was without my truck for a few days. This was at 850 kms. I’m happy they fixed this problem. I drove my truck for another week and had the engine light come on. Apparently the exhaust sensor is not calibrated properly for life outside the testing facilities. I understand that. Nissan is covering that cost as well. However, being such a new truck, I am waiting for the sensor to arrive but the truck is still drivable. The truck now has 1900 km. This brings us to the 4th week. Exhaust fluid (DEF) light has come on and now the speed limiter has come into effect. Now my $65,000.00(Canadian) truck is sitting at the dealer for the second week. I called Nissan Canada and called my dealer. Neither have a time line in sight for the parts to arrive.
Think what you will of this.
I understand this is a new model for Nissan and that there will be issues on some trucks. I really do like the Titan XD. I previously owned a 2013 FX4 Ford and still prefer the new Titan but I am not driving my new truck because it has been in the shop more than it has been in my driveway. Would I tell other people to buy this truck? Yes I love it but maybe wait until next year so that you’re not the test dummy like I currently feel. Nissan is currently telling me to wait to get back the use of my business truck.
Let me know if anyone else has any problems or did I maybe buy the first lemon Nissan XD?

Welcome to the party. Mine was in the shop the first week too. It took 3 shop visits and 12 days at the dealer to get it right. Same check engine light came on all 3 times.

All their supposed testing did not discover these issues?

No amount of testing ever reveals all the issues. And pre production vehicles and production vehicles are not the same. Things that are found during testing that are corrected can lead to other issues. Every ones driving habits and circumstances are different and that can expose more issues. Footloose and atc have had their trucks for roughly the same amount of time, atc has not had the issues that Footloose has had. Just like people no to vehicles are ever the same.

Agree. It does suck to have problems i understand that. But nissan isn't backing away from the plate. well atleast for me that hasn't been the case. They have been doing everything that they possibly could do to make sure I'm satisfied. which i appreciate.

Yes, they have been eager to get the problem fixed and they have had good follow up. Typically they call every few days to make sure everything is going good.

An update still no word on my parts coming. Nissan canada has not called back yet. Mostly because they don't have the part. They said today will be getting a phone call from management at nissan canada. My dealer has no idea of when parts are coming either. Will update after my conversation with nissan today? Wishful thinking....

We are in the process of working on an all aluminum radiator option for the Titan XD. Still we never like hearing about issues with brand new vehicles, so far our XD is holding up fairly well. OP, did Nissan ever shed some light as to why your radiator failed?

That sounds like a good plan. However there in very little communication between Nissan CAN and my dealer. I call Nissan for information on my truck (that still sits broken ) and then call my dealer there replay "no sorry we don't know have not been contacted by head office" ...........
OK so if your from Nissan and your worried about a part that has been aready fixed while my $65000 truck sits broken. Needing other parts that are un available.
While not to be rude but get your priorities stright. Let's worrie about what is broken at this moment not what has been fixed.
So I went and look at my truck still sitting in the yard. What a good looking truck Nissan made. And I must say my truck was the only xd on the lot so I was happy so see customers climbing all over it after hours glad that I bought the truck so nissan can use it as a show truck. Haha anyways still waiting for my truck I hear stories of maybe next week we will see I think 2017 model might be released first....

Camvap is an arbitration program funded by the auto manufacturers. So you can guess how most claims end up.

Maybe I missed it but where abouts in Canada are you?
I am in collingwood ont. I called camap and I do not have a case. I must have the exact same issue (the same part break three times) aparently as long as different things keep breaking nothing they can do.

My Titan XD...First I must start with staying I really like my Titan XD overall. As with any new vehicle to hit the street I may expect something to go wrong but owning any new vehicle and having it in the shop almost every week since purchase (2 months ago) is very frustrating.
(I must say though, this is the only new vehicle I have owned which has been in the shop for more than general maintenance)
Problems I have had:
*Brakes squeaked when stopping which never went away, after two service dates pads, rotors and shims were replaced.
*Driver side door seals leaked (not a lot but leaked). First the outer seals were replaced and now the inner seals are going to be replaced, after 3 times in service.
*Warning indicators came on: Service Electronic Throttle Control. It has been in the shop for three days and at this point, there are still no answers. I have been told Nissan and Cummings engineers are looking into the error codes and trying to come up with a fix.
*With every issue, parts and upgraded accessories (Nissan products), none are in stock therefore must be ordered but some parts/accessories with take up to 5 months to come in. Again, frustrating!
I hope I made the right decision to purchase!

Oh wow I forgot about how my door leaks a little in the rain just a drip right in the center. Did they find a fix for the leak? I feel your pain Nissan finally fixed my truck yesterday with 3 weeks in the shop running good again. I THINK SO.
Pulled parts off assembly line to fix mine.
