My diesel was bone dry and I put 3.6 gallons of gas in it. Did not start it. Had a great tow truck driver tow it to a favorite shop in town. What will the shop do? We just put 9 k in it for a bad sensor. I am still totally panicked. Thanks!!

Probably just drain the fuel tank, clean it out to the best of their abilities, and fill it with diesel. Not letting gas run through the fuel system means only the tank is contaminated.

Thank you! That’s what all my friends have been telling me. They say it will be fine after they drain and clean the tank. This is my first newer diesel. The 08 Dodge 4500 was really tough. This is a different animal.

Yea. I did that too. Was bitching at my kids one day and commenced to pour Def in the Gas tank!! I freaked out and started screaming at the top of my lungs!. However, I didn't start it. I dropped the tank, poured everything out let it dry for two days and stuck it back on. Been running great every since. Whew!
