I personally say this truck is very under rated.
Im sure the truck is very capable, but after having the non XD, and increasing in only 700lbs of payload for a pro4x is not enough to convince me. If I hadnt bought the non XD, I probably would have bought the XD to try. As happy as I am with our Titan Pro 4x, it's also put me in a bad financial state. If I currently didnt lose $20K already for depreciation, I would give the XD a chance, but I can't take a chance and end up with a truck that can't do the job again. Even though the titan towed our previous camper perfectly, it technically was under rated in the payload department as well by about 400lbs, (current titan is 1103lbs). I know that by going F350, this is solve my issues for payload, future payload, towing, stability, etc. I currently get 12mpg with the stock Pro 4x, and about 6-8mpg when towing, so going F350 doesnt scare me for MPG and it wont be used as a daily.

Till you tow with one you won’t understand. I don’t care what the sticker says, the truck is severely underrated. I’m one of the ones that tests this truck daily. I’ve towed up to 14k lbs for like 600 miles and it handles it better than my 2016 f250 6.2 gasser. The f250 can’t even touch my truck. The diesel is a different animal.

After thinking about the sticker a little more, I decided to take it to a cat scale today. Filled it up and stepped out of the truck during the weigh. It came in at 6860 lbs. Which gives it an 1870 payload, pretty much spot on with the original sticker (1880). So not sure what that extra caution reduction sticker was for after all. The dealer explanation didn't make sense to me and turns out it was inaccurate I guess.

Like I mentioned earlier, if payload is your main concern. The pro4x XD without the premium package gives you a sticker payload of 2140 which is respectable. Better than most 1/2 ton (actual numbers, not book numbers) and paired up with the stout XD frame, brakes, and weight and it makes a great towing machine.

Thank you. Yes that helps to answer my questions. I too was thinking about possibly test driving an XD with our TT. I know how the current Titan drives and I feel that if the XD is at least 1.5x better than it's a win in my book. When comparing the 250 to the spec I want, it's only about 500lbs more payload (which is always nice), but really I just need around 2000-2500 (250 around 2900-3100). I dont need a vehicle to tow 14000, just need stability and payload increase. I would be going with the 7.3L and 4.30 gearing on the 250. We really love our Titan, and hate to see it go, but an XD would make that easy. I just don't want to force loving it because I want it, you know? I read all over about the XD being bigger, better, stronger, etc, but I wanted to hear from actual customers who use their Titans to tow, especially in the 9000+ category. The F250 is about $15K more for the options we want over the XD, and im just trying to figure out if that $15K is justifiable for the stability and 500lb payload, and to me it doesn't. Unless it's super stable, and even then I would think a F350 dually would be the stable option here, lol. I don't need anything huge, just something that is better/stable on the hwy going 60-65. Right now we are doing 50-60 because of the tail wag from time to time. I think I want and am going XD, just want to confirm before I make the purchase. I guess it wouldn't be so hard if we didn't already own a Titan, lol. Thank you again!

We currently have a 21 Titan Pro-4x. We absolutely love the truck. However, we recently upgraded our 32ft camper for a 37ft camper that has a max weight of 10,200. We currently have it around 9,000, and its a 900lb hitch weight. We do have a WD hitch with upgraded spring bars and have added a 2nd sway control. The Titans power and brakes are very good, but as many of you could probably tell, the Titan is no longer fit for the job. We recently took a trip from TX-TN-IA-TX. As yall could imagine, the tail was wagging the dog. It was controllable, but anytime a semi or gust of wind came by, things got hairy. We are looking to upgrade trucks, and I cant decided between a Titan XD or F250. We wont be upgrading campers again anytime soon, so one of those trucks will work. I am fully positive that the F250 will do the job, but we are looking at a Lariat model with the options, and its like $75-80K. A XD Pro-4X with the options is closer to $60-65K. My concern is, will the XD perform that much better over our current Titan? Is is worth buying for my situation over a F250? I dont want to spend the extra money on the F250 if the XD will do the job as we need it. We take the camper out about every other month, but do the long trips about 3-4 times a year. Overall, im looking to improve stability. Thanks yall.
My 17 titan pulled my 9000 lb toyhauler just fine but my 23 titan xd pro4x pulls it noticeably better. Night and day difference

We still have a 23 F350 on order but it’s on hold till who knows when, but our 21 Titan is losing value like everyday, so badly, and we want to tow our camper. So we are trading the Titan for a new 22 F250 lariat in the mean time. I’d love to give the Titan XD a chance during this time, but the amount of mileage we would put on it right now would put us in the same boat we are now again, even used. Hate to see the Titan go in 2 weeks, but need a bigger truck. The F250 will hold its value better in the mean time till the 350 comes in.

Our 21 Titan was $65K (has every single option), we got it for $58K without taxes, which was the best deal I could find for what we wanted in 21. We’ve had it for 1.5 years, and 16K miles. I’ve talked to many dealers, I’ve gotten a range from $32K to $41,500. So we will be letting it go for $41,500. Surprisingly, the ford dealers gave me the most for the truck, which were all $41K, all the nissan dealers wanted to give $38-40K. Bottom line, I purchased the Titan at a good price, and I still lost almost $17K in value, which is like unheard of for a truck. Our same truck is going for $45K used now. Every time we make a payment, it seems to drop in value the same amount, lol. My 2015 Tacoma I payed $30K for in 2014, now has 65K miles, worth $24K now. The Titan just doesn’t hold its value, and mileage is the ultimate killer for it. Still an amazing truck, and will surely miss it, but we gotta move on.

Yeah that’s pretty good for 6 years. I except depreciation, but I think I about crapped myself when I found out how much it’s worth now, lol. I expected maybe $10K, but was a little shocked at $17K. Like I said though, love the truck, but used for sure if I buy another one.

Lmfao you absolutely over paid if you paid 58k plus ttl. Dude I paid 45k otd for a 2018 SL 4wd completely optioned out, brand new. If you would have paid the correct amount for the truck you wouldn’t be loosing much.

That’s where you’re wrong. It’s a 21 after Covid. Pre Covid sure, but you wouldn’t get that deal after Covid. My pro4x has more options than your SL and costs more too. I mean do you even have cooled seats? I know you don’t have the pano roof. Try finding a cheaper pro 4x new with every single option for $58K. You won’t. Getting $7K off was a good deal in 21. What you know pre Covid doesn’t apply after Covid. This used car market doesn’t help either. That truck was worth $49K Oct 22 with 14K miles. Now 5 months later, and 16K miles, it’s worth $42K. There’s a lot to consider right now, not just what I payed. I payed $30K for my 15 Tacoma in 15 new. That same truck is now $40K to buy new. I’d like to see you walk into a nissan dealer right now and demand $45K on a new Titan pro 4x, and I’ll even let you negotiate on a no option pro 4x version as well, I bet they will laugh and you’ll walk.

If you were dumb enough to buy a truck during covid that’s y’all’s fault lmao. And my sticker pre covid was 67k bud, just cause you can’t talk to dealers don’t mean I can’t. Take your loss and move on.

lol, ok. You’re clearly on here to be a dick. Sorry for actually buying a truck in 21, you’re so right, nobody should buy any vehicle after Covid. I’m glad you’ll be keeping your SL for the rest of your life. When you’re ready to have an actual mature conversation, let me know. Until then, you’re not worth my time.

It’s just very annoying when folks like yourself buy a truck at an exaggerated price, then loose money on the deal at trade in, and then come on here and act like it’s Nissans fault lol. It’s not, it’s your fault. Usually I just scroll on by these but today I felt like commenting. Sorry 😘

Anybody else feel I over payed for a new loaded 21 pro 4x with every option? Was $7K off not enough? Was I supposed to get $22K off like Cajun? Would like to hear from other people what their discount was. Don’t need to know start and end price, just your discount price. More from the 20+ models if possible. Thanks guys

We paid $69k Canadian (~$50k usd) during covid, list was $82k ($60k usd). 2019 MY, spring of 2020 purchase.

We didn't deal, just asked for a specific configuration of truck, we were given three options to get a brand new truck, that was the price they came back with.

The point is valid though, if someone is going to complain about the price they paid for a truck on an open forum, they might expect to be called out for trying to shift the blame for getting the raw end of the deal.
