Check out this little surprise we found this morning in the Nissan News Room! Nissan has made the full press kit for the Titan XD available, media outlets are still gagged by the embargo, but we're not...

SV, P4X, and SL offer the integrated gooseneck option, the Platinum Reserve (PR) includes it standard. All trims except S include a Trailer Sway Controller.

P4X and SL offer a Trailer Brake Controller as an option, PR standard.

P4X, SL and PR will come with the Tow Package built in, S and SL must option.

One cool feature is the ability to check your trailer lights from your key fob. Optional on all trims except S, standard on PR. Same story for split tow mirrors.

On to the specs!

Not to be a negative Nancy here, but honestly I expected more. With the 12,000+ tow rating that was being touted, I expected ALL configurations to get to at least 12,000 pounds. 10,608 on the 4x4 PR?? Weak stuff right there!

Great work!
The truck has hydraulic cab mounts. That with the NASA seats will make for an amazing ride. The 9000 lb GVWR is nice and necissary
RGIII decieved us once again. This truck is nowhere near 6000 pounds. Not even a base 2x4. The average 4x4 is 7300 lbs. That means 1700 pounds payload. Good but not great. Certainly less than that of the F150HD. With a 20% pin weight, that is 8500 lbs max. Only 11300 lbs with a 15% pin weight. Significantly less when loaded with a 5th wheel hitch. This truck ended up being heavier than any of us or Nissan imagined.
Also 26 gallon fuel tank kinda sucks.

Unfortunately, it may be looking like a 250/2500 will be a better option for me. My idea was to get a truck that could handle a 10,000+ lbs 5th wheel when taking the family camping (Havetn bought the 5er yet but didnt want weight to be too much of a limitation) and still provide a good grocery getter/daycare hauler/home depot trip type of ride.

Looks like it may be too close to the max for my comfort.

the F250 has the longest bed, with a crew cab, of the big three. It also has the lowest bed rail height. Can't wait to see how the XD measures up against the 3/4 tons. I cant get a new Ram 3/4 under my Fifth wheel with enough clearance, without towing out of level or raising my trailer.

I believe there was a typo on the PR 4X4 towing capacity. From the other places I've read and simple comparison of the 2X4 to the 4X4 the Pr 4X4 towing capacity should be 11,560 lbs. I could be wrong because of what Nissan has listed, but I really would be surprised if that isn't the case. On all the other trims they only reduce the towing capacity from the 2X4 model by the weight the truck gains to be a 4X4. It wouldn't makes since for it to be reduced so much just for the 4X4 model, unless that one model/trim has a way different suspension or something.

26 Gallon fuel tank does suck. GM is at least doing things right by getting tanks bigger. My f-250 is 25 if I remember right and that sucks when towing.

We don't know what is the 5th wheel towing? If its 12k trailer, i can imagine 13 or 14k fith wheel.

Not enough payload for me (and most 5th wheels).
Bummer.

Same here I was excited about the 2k+ payload Nissan's sold me these past 10 months. I didn't expect to only have this option on the base model only. I'm okay giving up 500 lbs on tow but payload I regularly load mine up with materials. I think my 05 Titan has about 1600 lb payload.
Anyone think the gasser XD with its lighter weight over the diesel would have higher tow and payload? Granted it won't tow quite as well but everything else should be the same.

Definitely. Also RegCab or KingCab should help.
I'm also now concerned that the rear GAWR might be too low as well for heavy loads and 5th wheels.

That is a new bag of speculation. No guarantee that GVWR would be the same. I thought that the non dies Titans would be less heavy duty and not XD trucks. If would bet the gasser has more payload though.
