I've seen lots of posts about it on the Titan FB groups and the Amazon reviews are perfect. I don't have any real complaints about how mine looks, as it's way better than the "before" photos I've seen.

Link? I know I had seen one that was getting great reviews on here (minimal work to replace, great picture quality, etc.) - was about $30 or so. Not sure which one it was....

I agree, its not bad on the factory screen. All the reviews i see of the larger aftermarket screens says its really magnifies how bad it really is. So im wanting to avoid that, went ahead and ordered it, will post before and after once installed. I have the ikonic badges just haven't had time to put them on either.

 

Its not this 1, master tailgaters backup camera is like $119.00, but its direct replacement. I seen the 1 youre talking about on here. Im not big on wiring everything, not my thing and that 1 had a little too much rigging for me. I like plug and play, thats direct replacement. Ive had too much bad luck with the other route.

So, maybe do the same with your VIN and see if it shows that it fits your truck.

 

Just have to check part numbers to see of theyre the same. Update, heres before and after. Truck didnt move at all, new camera definitely shows more and better. Pretty easy install.

 

I must order one of these pronto. This is the best side-by-side comparision I've seen and you have the same head unit I do.

 

I can confirm that this camera works on a '21 XD PR.

The picture is definitely brighter and less blurry. The new camera is also less fish eyed.

Still not great, but noticeably better than the factory camera.

Install is quick and easy.

 

Did you order from Amazon? It says 2016-2018 but i guess nothing really changed camerawise in 2020-21 models.

The camera came today, but since I am on-call for my job (and am a superstitious ass), the installation is delayed until my next day off from work. Every time I attempt to do something around the house or involving the truck, the sky falls on my head in terms of a work issue cropping up.

I haven't driven at night with it yet.

 

I have driven very early morning before sun comes up, its still pretty good. Ill take a picture of it next time i drive at night. Obviously i wont have a before picture though.

Heres the camera at night, i do have an opt7 under tailgate light bar with reverse lights so i do have a little more light for backing up over stock. On stock camera you couldnt see the light bar, on this camera you can see it.

 

I fInally got around to installing it and am impressed. All I did was fire up the truck and put it in reverse, just to make sure it worked before I reinstalled the tailgate access cover. I could see right there how much better it is than the factory camera.

I got my camera and installed it. The good - it is more detailed and less fish-eyed. The bad - it shows less area both width and height - not a huge deal. The ugly - it doesnt feel like a significant upgrade. It is a cloudy day and i have not seen it in the sun or at night. But any improvement is marginal and, in my opinion, not worth the $120. The pics showed by other members showed huge improvements but they had older models (i think 2017) and maybe for 2021 models the improvements are less defined. Well... i will try it out on a sunny day and make a decision to return it or not.

Really? Mine actually shows more. You can go back and look at mine, shows more up and down and much better quality.

 

i was surprised myself...I would expect MT camera to show wider.

maybe i got a dud camera or there was a mixup and i got a less quality camera.

 

Maybe it is not a big change for later models. It's a vast improvement on my 2018.

I reinstalled the factory camera back and the verdict clear (no pun intended). The original is more fish-eyed and less clear but it shows wider. Returning the MT camera.

PS the first pic is with MT camera. The second is with the factory one. I have not moved the truck.

 

I recently installed a 9in screen stereo in my truck to replace the horrid Nissan nav unit. I've always had issues with the stock backup camera looking blurry but after the stereo upgrade, it became horrendous and darker. I ended up ordering the Master Tailgaters camera and what a huge difference it made. Somehow, I even have more of a better viewing angle than I had with the stock camera which is nice and it's also much brighter now (kind of hard to tell in pics but before I had to take off my sunglasses to view the video feed when in reverse and now I no longer need to take off my sunglasses in reverse).

Mines a 2017 so anyone with a 2016-2019, I highly recommend this upgrade if you're having backup cam issues or want a better quality looking camera feed.
