Titan with utility box has different taillights, why?

Hey new guy here, been lurking around for a few months
I cracked a taillight & called a local junkyard junkyard & they told me they had one but it was for titan without utility box & my truck has utility box so they said i cant use it which i thought was odd, I swore all the 16-19 taillights were the same
Did some quick research & actually Nissan has 2 part #s for left taillight
26555-EZ23C without utility boxes
26555-EZ23D with utility boxes
Does anyone know what exactly are the differences in the taillights?
I dont see what the utility bed has to do with the taillights

thats what i figured also but with the 2 different part #s & a price difference in the lights it has to be something (could just be something stupid) but it has to be something & Im super curious as to what that something is
I have a 2016 XD SV I am about to sell soon I will pull that light & compare it to my 2017 XD Plat to see if i can figure this out, i was hoping someone on the forum knew for sure.

I pulled the light from my SV since im not driving it now & the part# was missing, so im back at square 1 but at least im back driving my new truck & i will just replace the light on my SV before i sell it, but i am still curious to the difference,
